My CX-5 was registered in Jul 2018, I purchased it second hand in Mar 2019 from a Vauxhall garage, the car has completed 30,000 miles and has been regularly serviced at a Mazda garage. In the last few months the car regenerated and produced clouds of white smoke for a minute or so. Diagnostics carried out yesterday showed there was a build up of carbon in the manifold. The car was stripped down and cleaned and rebuilt. Cost £2000, it was referred to Mazda under the Mazda good will policy and disallowed as I never purchased it in the first instance. What a racket! In Australia they have recalled 40000 cars for the same problem, similar issues in America. I will pursue this further, it’s clearly a design issue and liability should rest with Mazda. CHECK YOUR CAR
