Just remembered that my manual cx-5 seem to require the clutch being firmly pushed down for a clean gear change.
To be honest i think the auto is a better option, i can change gear manually if i want, and i do use it regularly to give me extra engine braking.

A change simply requires the lever pushing forward to change down and back to change up, but it won't change unless you are in the correct speed band for the gear requested.

Crunch from the gearbox when moving from 1st to 2nd. If I try and match the revs it sometimes goes in smoothly. If I'm not paying attention it grinds!

Anyone else had this issue? I intend to speak to Mazda soon but wanted to go with as much info as possible.

Cheers,
John

Hi,

I'm having exactly the same issue.

I had a look at the TSB posted on this thread, but my car is a 17 reg so the only thing that "should" apply is the recommended oil replacement for EU countries?

I'm having the very first service in about a month, hopefully they are going to fix it.

Did you have your issue fixed by any chance?

Thanks,
Eddy
