Title: Navigating the manual
Post by: steve101 on October 30, 2018, 10:21:12 am
I assume that all manuals are downloaded in pdf format. For those who don't know, there is a search facility in Adobe Reader that makes it easy to look up anything you want in the manual. It's opened by selecting the magnifying glass icon on the top left of the tool bar. Select this and a little window opens where you can enter a word or phrase, eg. 'parking brake'. Select next to see the first reference of your choice and keep selecting next until you find the bit you are looking for.

The very fact there are forums are an indication that owners DON'T read them in the first place :), given that vehicles have evolved over the past 20 years with the additions of on board computers and many other accessories which were once found on high end motors but have slipped down to many ordinairy cars 8) shows many are blissfully ignorant of what they actually have :D

Modern cars have more and more toys fitted, many will not get used a great deal as the drivers choice.
One thing is growing, if you get problems in the car for many things, the ordinary home mechanic
has no chance to solve many of them. Technicians of one form or another will have a steady living .
Just hope your motor is a good one and does not go wrong a lot and cost you a mint of money.
