Title: Battery parasitic drain
Post by: Taff93 on July 08, 2020, 01:01:39 am
Hi, UK owner of 2015 CX5 SportNav, AWD, 175bhp 2.2 diesel., auto. I have suffered a 1.2 amp constant battery drain for some long time and all the normal checks on circuits using amp draw testing shows nothing and it still persists. Anyone out there had same experience? When car is used every day you wouldn't notice it but when stands for4 days or so... no life in battery, tried 2 new batteries so far but same constant draw when everything is off.

If you put an ammeter in series with the battery lead and see current being drawn then remove each fuse in turn until the drain goes and then you will know what circuit is causing it. Then look at all the components fed by that fuse and you should find the problem.
Alarms are a common source of drain. Is the car near to your key so that it is constantly talking to it?
