Found out engine numbers don't match
« on: November 08, 2022, 06:50:46 pm »
Hello everyone and thanks for the add.
So, in April/May we purchased our 65 plate 2.2D SEL Nav. 32500 miles.
Now at 40k i took the car to the guy that does our servicing, only to be told that he thinks the car has had the engine replaced. ( Blue paint on all the bolt heads and numbers in paint pen).
I checked the engine No. and low and behold it does not match the V5c. V5c number SH-30582***, engine in car SH-30518***
Bought the car thinking it had low mileage, now don't know, could be 80k.
Been in touch with the dealer (not Mazda) today no reply yet.

My question is, is it possible to find out the reg of the car the replacement engine came out off, in order to do an MOT / mileage check. >:(

Mazda may have replaced the engine perhaps under warranty?
