Title: Newbie
Post by: Handy Andy on July 13, 2018, 03:58:26 pm
Hi all,
I currently have a CX-3 and am looking forward to ordering up a new CX-5 Petrol Auto. Hoping the delivery won't take too long.

Welcome!

That depends on whether its a factory order or not. My May factory order (2.2d 175 sport nav) is due in early September. There should be enough stock around to find one sooner, though.

Depends on what Colour and model you want. Factory orders as said above due for September.
But there were some of the new Sole Red ones available last month.Well worth checking with your
local dealer.

Hi Andy,

Is this for the revised spec version due out in September? My local dealers are a bit coy about giving out details and cannot confirm pricing at the moment.

Is the petrol auto the 165ps engine or have they put the 2.5l 194ps engine in that is in the new 6?

Cheers,

The petrol is still the 2 litre version but the diesel is the 184 (450Nm torque) version with urea injection.

Thanks, are there any other details available? My local dealer has told me a few bits and pieces but nothing definite. Mazda UK are in total denial about a new spec but I guess they are still trying to shift the old stock.

I believe that the radar cruise will be standard so I'm hoping we can finally get stone leather with MRCC!

Not many details as yet which is why I am having to wait. My dealer told me that they are having training on the MY19 during August.  When the petrol auto is available I hope it comes with a sunroof. That would be the icing on the cake. As you all know it is only available on the 175ps diesel model at the moment.

The SportNav will come with a sunroof.  There is a fella on the CX-3 forum who just ordered one.

Hi Anchorman. Thanks for the info. I must have missed that on the CX-3 forum. The problem is can I afford to keep the CX-3 as well - it's such a great little car.

Haha!  I must admit, if I was loaded I might just have a CX-3 as a toy to run about in - especially the new one with the EPB when it comes.  Its Gus that ordered the CX-5.

I received the spec for the new CX5 from my dealer. I will try to attach the pdf file with this post. The radar cruise looks good. I will have to do the attachment in two parts due to file size restrictions

Thanks Steve101,

Some interesting numbers there. I've done a quick check against the current model and although the 175ps will be uprated to 184ps it will be slower on the 0-62. The 150ps diesels have gained half a second on the 0-62 while the petrol manual is very slightly faster.

I originally intended to buy a 175ps just because I wanted the radar cruise but now that MRCC is std across the range I think the new petrol auto might suit me better. I do about 11,000 miles/yr, don't tow anything or need AWD, so don't really need the diesel economy and torque or off-road ability. The main criticism of the petrol manual was the need to work the gears quite a lot but now there is a petrol auto you can just let the auto box do all the work. And the £4,600 price difference is a very decent chunk of cash to spend elsewhere!

Do you think they've got the Fuel Cons. figures mixed up? Usually the combined number is somewhere between the urban and extra-urban values but this is showing the combined much lower. It looks like they have the Urban and Combined the wrong way round.

Hadn't noticed that WB. Yes, it does look as you say, the urban and combined the wrong way round. Hopefully it will be sorted when the full brochure comes out.

Do you know if the 19" wheels are the same style as the current model? The new sheet states "silver metallic" whereas the current brochure is gunmetal.

This has popped up on the website. It’s a nice looking wheel.

It looks fairly easy to clean too. That's a bonus.

Noticed another error in the documents. Page 1 of document 1 includes halogen day time running lights and page 2 of document 1 includes LED daytime running lights. Which one is which? My 2016 CX5 SEL Nav has halogen DRL's  :-[ so I would expect the 2018/19 CX5 to have LED Drl's, unless it's back door cost cutting in the hope nobody notices?
