Title: Reverse cam on aftermarket stereo
Post by: Goose13270 on June 09, 2020, 12:17:32 pm
Hi guys Im wondering if anyone can shed a light on how to get the reverse cam working on an aftermarket stereo (Kenwood DMX 7017 DAB) everything else seems to be in working order with the correct harness from connect 2 but can't seem to find an adapter in the UK.

I know you need a 12 - 6 volt invertor and was wondering if anyone has found a way to connect it up. Car is Mazda Cx5 2.2D Sport Nav with Bose sound system. TIA

I used this when fitting a Sony head unit into my 2014 CX-5 and it works perfectly, I didn't need a voltage adapter as the factory connections to the camera are used.

I found that the handbrake and reverse trigger wires were reversed from the head unit wiring colours, so bear this in mind if you have any strange issues with the camera not appearing to work!

Thanks Richard, all sorted now and you where spot on with the wiring, had to swap the reverse and handbrake around

I'm glad someone else didn't have to figure it out too!  ;)
