Nickg:
Our CX5 (2015 Sport Nav Auto) renewal from Direct Line is £420.00 up from last year when it was £297.00!!! That's not just cheeky but down right rude. They clearly don't want our business and they won't get it.

Lancaster Insurance want £344.00 (I insure my MX5 with them)
LV want £350.00 with the same add ons that we have with Direct Line (Legal and Hire car). It's £319 as a bare policy.

We were with Saga for years and years but a year ago they too got very greedy for existing customers - don't they all I'm sorry to say.

From all the above it looks like I'll be trying the AA next.
Sadly gone are the days when you went to your local broker and left satisfied.

Has anyone  any other suggestions?
Cheers
Nick

I too went with AA-£300 excess @ £206.53 ;D
Introductory discount for first year, so we'll wait to see what it is
in 2020.

My AA quote is £323.  So I have a feeling that your next year quote will be a lot higher. I hope for your sake that it is not higher but my wife and I are ideal insurance candidates (location, no commuting, not too many miles a year etc etc). As I see it there is only age against us as we are in our seventies.

LV is the winner at £319, AA second at £323, Lancaster £344 and Direct Line bringing up the rear  £381. (After haggling down from £420).

Thank you one and all for all the prices and companies you have given this thread.

Cheers
Nick

I went through GO COMPARE, so am due some cashback in due course too.
Debenham's Insurance was cheapest, but that group has financial woes, so avoided.

I found NFU to have the best policy cover/price combination out there plus they have local ofiices and direct central call centre(uk). i have been with them 3 yrs now and the premium goes DOWN every time due to loyalty bonus(plus being a mutual it plows back all profits into the business and no you dont have to be a farmer lol.
my premium is for 8k miles NO excess at all for 2 drivers is £296
