Title: Android update to v6 (Marshmallow)
Post by: Deepjoy22 on March 29, 2016, 07:49:17 pm
I gather this software update is now being rolled out to Samsung users with appropriate model phones.  Trying to anticipate this and wondered if anyone has already got an Android Marshmallow phone (Samsung or other manufacturer) and whether it works ok with the MZD (I'm on 56.00.512).

Given all the problems reported on here with Bluetooth / WiFi connections, I'd hate to take a backward step because MZD isn't in line with the latest Android release.l

Thanks.

I would look at the change log myself, to see what's in it for you.
Having updated my Nexus 7 tablet to lollypop some time ago its never run the same IMO, much slower.

Same as upgrading to win 10 from 8.1, no end of problems mainly with wifi dropping.

I've had 6/Marshmallow on my HTC One M9 for about 4-5 weeks now. As far as I can see, it's made no difference to the connectivity - my Bluetooth works fine but the Wi-fi is still a PITA as it was for V5. Mazda still puzzling over this but it may be a phone compatibility issue, despite being assured that this phone was.

Ah - should have updated this earlier as I started the thread.

I've had Marshmallow (v6.0.1) for a couple of months and no problems.  I can receive emails fine along with text / calls etc.  I'm still using a Samsung S6.
