Steering/Suspension/Brakes / rear caliper slider pins
« Last Post by dwlawson on June 15, 2023, 01:24:12 pm »
Just replaced my rear discs and pads. One slider pin on each side has a rubber sleeve at the top which had swollen and caused the pin to seize. Consensus of opinion on the net is that the purpose of the rubber sleeve is to stop rattling but nobody seems certain. I've reassembled minus the sleeve and haven't noticed any rattling yet. Anyone else left the sleeves off and noticed any ill effects?

General Discussion / Blackout on infotainment and rear camera
« Last Post by Clarice on June 13, 2023, 12:47:00 pm »
Travelled up to Selkirk in Bussy our CX-5 2.0 Auto to spend 9 days in Scottieland for pleasure and relaxation, have to say she’s a comfortable girl to travel long distance. Been in the Borders for around 6 days when on reversing——No Camera, then no infotainment either. Wife was somewhat upset as she is only a year old. ME ? Mechanic head on, decided this was a fuse issue. Pulled up and removed the fuse box cover, Gordon Bennett, fuses and relay boxes galore with the legend under the cover giving no hint as to what was covering what, the method used was press lightly on each fuse and relay in which bingo the camera and infotainment all returned. Contacted our local garage to get it checked whereby a fuse was found to be a bit far depressed. My surmising was electrical resistance that I dislodged when checking the fuses. Other than that 1400 miles covered in the week where much exploring was done with Sunshine in play all the time we were there, unusual for Scotland but very welcome instead of the usual old wet weather up there.a

Vehicle Electrics / I-Stop deactivation

Thought i would share a you tube link so you can turn off the I-Stop permanently. Everyone bleats on about this piece of crap saving money, what they don't mention is the unnecessary wear on the starter motor. I know a few people have had to spend hundreds getting starters replaced. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcti8zGMdzc

General Discussion / general questions

hi , have a CX5 2019 and have a few snags , my drivers side mirror seems to have a mind of its own ,sometimes ok but more likely just move an inch or two. Other thing is the DAB seems to cut out more and more these days ,much more than a few months ago ,is there a fix for this or just the weather conditions. It was fine when i bought the car 6 months ago ,anybody got any ideas ?

Is there any way of showing the clock on the infotainment screen when the infotainment system is switched off?

My CX-5 was delivered in february 2023, albeit with AA equipped from the factory.
Works fine through USB, but not wireless. Does yours works wireless/bluetooth?

Hi Everyone

If anyone took delivery of the new CX-5 in March 2023 as I did you will know that Android Auto was not available at that time.

I can now tell you that it is now available in the UK, but you need to have it installed by your dealer.

My CX-5 went in last week as a recall and was done in about an hour. It all works okay, so very pleased.

That was especially useful. Thanks.

The TCU software is version 10020 so it seems as though it is up to date.

Regarding AA when I collected the car in March it was not available for the new 2023 CX-5 and when the system loads only Apple Play is available for selection. I am a bit surprised it is not available for installation over the air.
