Title: Locking without the alarm.
Post by: David Lewis on April 25, 2016, 06:05:30 am
Hi, I'm new to the forum and new to my CX-5. I need to take the vehicle on a car ferry and so need to be able to lock the car, but not have the alarm set.

The handbook is not helpful. The key fob has only two switches, one to lock, one to unlock. The car has the advanced keyless system.

Can anyone help?

My keyless fob has three buttons.
one turns of the inside alarm for pets, would that help?

I don't think the cx-5 has a tilt alarm, only the doors boot and bonnet, along with the interior sonic alarm.

Seems I needn't worry. The whole alarm systems appears to be unserviceable or worthless. Much like most of the gadgets on the car. Should have bought an Audi.

I've had a audi not bad but far from perfect, and expensive.

Alloy wheels stuck to the hubs through corrosion in less than 6 months, all four wheels replaced due to corrosion. and windscreen wipers that made an horrendous noise until the wiper arms where bent, and no i'm not joking, apparently they all did that.

Other than the above a window switch failed, and the car was very boring to drive.
Nice looking car though, actally better to look at than drive.

I looked at a Q3 and a Q5 before buying another cx-5, i would sooner have a bmw x3 or Tucson than either audi.

My alarm works ok, whats yours not doing?
