Hi all
Link to map http://infotainment.mazdahandsfree.com/navigation-updatemymaps?language=en-EU (http://infotainment.mazdahandsfree.com/navigation-updatemymaps?language=en-EU)
Double click on Mazda Toolbox and it will update automatically. Note that I don't know what the improvements are. (If any).

Thanks for the heads-up!

I've been trying to connect to the Naviextras update server all week without success. Has anyone else been able to connect?
-
I've just seen the update pricing, considering it's a proven piece of 5hit they should be free >:( >:( >:(
-
Yes, and no problems encountered: update installed allright.

The maps are free for the first 3 years.

As the title. :)

Can't say I am overly impressed with Mazdas efforts with satnav. It took me nearly two hours to install the latest version maps. Checking the sd card in the car, I see that a flyover in Liverpool. Churchill Way, which was demolished last year, is still showing. Not to be trusted to show you the way home.
-
Update went flawlessly. Took some 30 mins (Mazda server downloads @ some 40---50 Mbps, but your download speed depends on your internet connection), and another 30 mins to install (this depends on the R/W speed of your computer and the used SD card).
R/W speeds can be increased by using a better quality SD card, just clone your old one to a better one.
Using a better SD also speeds up loading nav upon starting your vehicle.

Is anyone else having problems with the mazda toobox? I have tried on 2 PC, one with Win 7 pro and the other with Win 10 Pro.
On both, I start the toolbox, it checks for updates, then opens to where I have to agree with the license agreement, but I cannot scroll down in order to activate the Agree button and click it.
The cookie acceptance window pops up, but I get the same result whatever cookie option I go for.
Thanks for any help,
Andrew

You have been lucky. No matter how clever you are at downloading the update, if the map info is out of date it's a bit useless wouldn't you say?

Thank you for staying On Topic please.

Mazda use Here maps. Sign up to the Map Creator and report the missing flyover plus other errors you may see. HERE Map Creator (https://mapcreator.here.com/mapcreator/53,-1.1333,12,0,0)

I registered with Here Maps and their map shown online is already up to date for the ex-Churchill Way flyover in Liverpool. I checked again on my in car Mazda satnav and the flyover is still there. As a double check I put the sd card into my laptop and it informed me that I have the current update installed, July 2020, and if I want any updates in future I will have to pay for them. I don't think I will bother.

I have slow speed, so always takes 4 or 5 hours; 1st 2 attempts stalled, on day
I received update e mail, annoyingly at 83%.
Mazda's map contractors responded to my moan, saying that I needed to wait for the new
TOOLBOX to d/load; this should have been available before they issue the new map notification
e mail.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When I moaned to HERE about out of date content on new maps on my Qashqai, they said
the delay in issuing fresh content, was down to NISSAN having to validate content,
ie were always at least 12-18 months out of date.
Like poster above, I was puzzled that HERE's website mapping was very up to date,
(recall it's updated daily or weekly) yet newly issued HERE SD Maps didn't reflect this.
Always struck me as odd statement, as the car maker is not a mapping expert.

New version of Mazda Toolbox released version 5.0.0.2002151628 for MZD Connect. No idea what the improvements are although it will automatically update when you open the application.
-
Just noticed there's an updated set of maps available - dated Jan 2021. I've just tried the update (more than once) and get an error:
HTTP Status 500 -
type Exception report
Hopefully Mazda will pick up on this and it'll be resolved soon.
-
This is a known problem; whenever MZD "sees" that you try to update your 8 Gb SD card this error occurs.
For the time being the only working solution is to use a 16 Gb card : you copy everything on the old card to the new card; the new card then updates correctly.
I did it myself yesterday, this works 100%.
-
My 2019 came with a 16gb card fortunately; updated in around an hour this time. Previously when on slow 2.5-3 mbps ADSL connection was a good 5 hours :-\ Now on Mobile Home broadband with a 25mbps d/load speed much less painful. ;D
Having trouble getting the UPDATED disc to clone (use the free Aomei App) to a spare 32gb disc; always worked in car, as soon as installed- not this time.
After inserting, it says my car doesn't come with a Satnav system :'(; tried again, same result.
Looking at some of folders on copied SD, they're either empty or the one called "Label", hasn't got
Map version in there, just lots of "x"'s.
Annoying.

I have just updated the satnav with the January 2021 update. I thought I would let the rush die down a bit and wasn't going anywhere for a while anyway. It took about 20 minutes for the toolbox to recognise the sd card then 4 hours to download and 30minutes to install. Not what I would call speedy. I have a fairly modern laptop running Windows 10 with an 11ac wifi card. The wifi router is a BT 6 model and my BT internet download speed averages at 75mbs. This slow download must be a problem with Mazda. It reminded me of downloading microsoft updates when using dial-up in the distant past.

Mazda Toolbox : New maps version june 2021 is now out, toolbox has been updated too.
Downloads @ 150 Mbps, if your ISP provides this speed.
-
Left my SD card to update whilst I took mutt out, as I guess it'd take couple of hours at 21mbps speed.
Came back to attached; however, when going back, it showed it had d/loaded satisfactorily, and proceeded then to install.
All OK so far :)
Edit :- Please read post below. Thank you

Could I please ask everybody, if you wish to post a picture on the forum, to read the instructions related to posting images on the forum and NOT use the attachments folder, as requested.

Wonder if there is advice on the Map updates. Decided to update mine (16GB card). Installed toolbox on Windows PC. Insert the card and nothing happens.
Any advice how to initiate an update?
-
Just did it. Started Mazda Toolbox, reply : there is a new version etc, installed the new version.
Inserted the SD card, was recognized, update took some 12 mins.

Took me some search on google to solve the issue - apparently my desktop was installing Toolbox into 'profile'. So had to remove it, install again as 'administrator' and then run as 'administrator'. Update happened nicely after that.
Hopefully my experience can help others as well.
