Title: Services and warranty
Post by: Shields Boy on May 03, 2015, 02:29:48 pm
Delighted with my newly puchased Mazda CX-5 175AWD which I bought from a non Mazda garage but a bit concerned about warranty issues. The car is 2 years old and was due its second service although only done 10K miles. The garage changed oil and filter using Mazda parts but will this be enough to preserve the warranty, which has a year to run. Does anyone know the full list of requirements for a second service? Is it worth checking with the local Mazda dealer who will probably tell me that they need to do the service?

Thanks.

Did the independent garage stamp your service book? If so, my guess would be that as long as genuine Mazda parts were used it would qualify as a service - I don't think that manufacturers can insist that servicing is done by a main dealer. Might be best to check though - is there anything on Mazda website regarding servicing during warranty?

I hope you're enjoying your car - I love mine!

Thanks Skippa.

Will probably give the dealer a ring to clear it up.

Think the car is great. Fabulous drive.
