Title: Service plans
Post by: xtrailman on November 12, 2015, 11:23:16 am
I pick up the car next Wednesday, only to be told that Perrys have not yet set up the service plans with Mazda, not happy.

£300 for 3 services, has anyone actually managed to take that plan out with perrys or any dealer?
Perrys took over GK in July and the reorganisation is being blamed for the delay, just how long do they need?

Moan over.

Yes, I took out the 3-year fixed price servicing deal for £299 when I picked my new car from Crayford Mazda at the end of July. Too good to turn down at that price.

Good at least some one is on it.

Mazda phoned today to confirm the plan isn't available until after xmas, but they have made a note against my file to go on it.
Also they say the plan is available up to the first service.

So perrys get your act together.

We had no issues with Struan in Perth for this service plan. Good deal and much cheaper than pay as you go..

I have tried to find out about this service plan offer.  My car is now 4 months old but I have just purchased it second hand so i was unsure if I would qualify. Asked local dealer and they said it was only available at point of sale and tried to sell me their own plan.  I contacted mazda and they just said to check with dealer, very helpful.  Might have to look into it again now.

I did buy mine when I ordered, which is probably why you've had trouble getting it. Keep pushing the dealer and check the previous owner didn't buy one as I believe it's transferable

I have this in an email from Mazda.

"Thank you for your patience whilst I looked into your service plan enquiry.

I have spoken to Carl Benger at Perrys Mansfield, he has confirmed the Service Plan for your vehicle if taken out at the time of the vehicle’s initial registration and up to 3 months after would be £299, this does include 3 services. There will be no problem in having the services done at Perrys Worksop."

Yet yesterday Mazda CS phoned to say the plan could be taken out anytime before the first service, but sent no email to confirm.
In fact the phone call said they didn't know where I had read about the 3 month limit, I do their email.

The call was on the answer machine so I'm going to record it. Not happy.

I should also add that the Mazda service page on their web site has very recently changed giving no mention of the £299 offer.

Thanks for the info :)  I have spoken to a few different people about this but all seem to say different,  will try again and push them a bit harder.

Out of interest, I have just telephoned Mazda here in Germany to enquire as to whether 'fixed price servicing' was available over here. Unfortunately the answer I received was NO and that any such offers of this kind are made by the vehicle importer. He did confirm, however, that the offer should still be available in the UK.

I signed up to the £299 plan shortly after buying the car.  Macrae & Dick in Inverness offered it after I had asked only after hearing about it on here and said they would do it but it was limited to within the first 28 days after purchase.  That said when I initially asked they didn't seem to have any info at all on it.

Just taken delivery of my new CX5 from Newport Mazda - opted to take the 3 year service deal at £299 - seemed to be a no brainier really!

The service package is one of the best around for value given the size of car, as long as you have a good dealer.

Asked about this service plan when I got my new one. Unfortunately, it's not available to anyone purchasing as a business, but it was offset by a £2000 discount off list price!

Well I've had an email from Mazda today.
The plan is available up to first service, but as yet not available from Perrys, however Mazda have assured me I will get it, and they will cover the cost.

So that's £300 pound in my pocket.
I'm happy now.

I phoned mazda to be told the same as above that it is available up to the first service, great! Asked them to put it in an email but didn't arrive.  Phoned again to be told the same, when email finally arrived it said the £299 service plan was only available at the point of sale.  Now waiting for mazda customer relations to contact me.  Seems like others have had better luck than me - will keep trying...

Bought my CX 5 in March through Perrys in Huddersfield. It took a few weeks to sort out but eventually got the 3 year service plan for £299.
Keep at them.

That's interesting.
Where they formally GK, I think that's the problem with Mansfield and Worksop both where GK now Perrys, I pursue them next week.

Thought i had got somewhere with this but now am unsure.
As I wasn't first owner I was not eligible for the service deal but dealer offered goodwill as long standing customer to cover half the difference between full price.

Now come through for me to sign and notice on the terms that it is not transferable and stays with the car, suppose this is fair enough but I have asked what happens should the car be written off and seems there are no refunds and its lost.  Does anyone know about this? Surely that cannot be right?

I phoned mazda and they said service plan is with emac so phoned them and they said the same thing.

Think I may just pay as I go :(

Chap on Mazda247 forum has just booked his car in for 3rd service quote

"booked cx-5 in for 3 yr service which will be £268 vat included. mot is extra."
I paid around £180 for first and second should have been around £220. If that helps you decide.

I didn't know the plan was fixed to the car though.  :(

I did transfer my GAP insurance with around 7 months on it.

Finally received my 3 year service deal, as promised by Mazda CS free of charge.  :)

Some points to note.
1/ Plan says applies to 2015 cars only.

2/ Plan is administered by EMac Ltd

3/ Plan applies to the car, not the owner.

4/ Plan covers 3 years 3 services, but only up to 37.5K miles, which is fine for me on 7K a year.

I bought my car as an ex-demo so missed out on the service plan when new. The car is now two years old and has done 31,000 miles. I've been emailed by Mazda promoting a monthly payment scheme "from £17" for the 3rd, 4th and 5th year of servicing. The services I've had have been nearly £300 so £204pa sounds attractive. Haven't rung them yet to get an actual quote, so I don't know what the "from £17" will become.

Anyone got experience of this scheme?

Yes I recently took out a service plan with burrows mazda for around the same price under 18 pounds, this is for 5th 6th and 7th service for me. The price does depend on which years the services are quoted for but there is not much in it. It will take the sting out of high service costs should any wear/tear items require changing.

Um - does the plan actually include wear/tear items as opposed to the usual oil/filter etc change? If so then that's certainly a good offer as wear and tear items aren't even covered
by the standard guarantee terms.

No I'm guessing it doesn't has i havent bothered checking i cant verify, what I meant by that comment was you will have paid for what is required for that service year as described in the handbook. Thus reducing overall bill if say brakes parts were requiring changing due to wear or mot reasons.

Thanks for the info rmvf. Just spoke to my local dealer, they're offering £17.12/ month for 2 year service plan or £19/month for 3 years. The latter would include the larger 75k service. Excludes wear and tear but does work out cheaper than paying for the services at the time plus as the guy said the price is fixed so if the price of parts that are included or oil goes up I'm protected from that.

So it really just comes down to how long I intend to keep the car (although I can apparently get refunded if I sold the car...not quite sure how that would be calculated).

Yeah I agree it does come down to "how long am I going to keep the vehicle", I did cancel the service plan for the mazda 3 with another dealership and was refunded if you do this normally costs a 25 pound administration fee, if I remember  rightly it also can be transferred if vehicle swapped within the group. I basically took it out for the following reasons, firstly as a another bargaining tool when ordering new vehicle that came with 3 year servicing thrown in, secondly as we had the white sport nav from new and it was low mileage i decided  to keep it for the next 3 years, ( unless the cx-9 arrives next year) thirdly was the price and fixed as you mentioned. But each to there own it won't be suitable for everyone but suits me for now.
