12v supply
« on: May 04, 2016, 01:51:14 pm »
Does anyone know offhand an easy location within the car (rather than under bonnet/fusebox) where a 12v permanent live can be picked up? This would be for a dashcam power supply unit to allow it to work in parking mode (it's a proper battery monitoring unit).

First place to look would be the fuse box in the front passenger foot well. I've taken ignition supplies from there, and a permanent live for my caravan ATC supply. I also pick up a supply from the battery but its a pig to pierce the cable harness grommit, theres also the danger of damaging the cores in the harness.
