AWD diff oil?
« on: February 24, 2017, 07:21:48 am »
Greetings all, having recently picked up a Sport 175bhp AWD 2013 model, I've been leafing through the service records and can't see anything about transmission and diff oil changes, she's just covered her 100k service and no signs of anything more exotic than oil and filter changes, has anyone had any experience of this?

Any particular reason for the PM Bert321?  I don't think we've had this particular question raised before and it would be interesting to hear more.

Indeed, i would be interested to know if it needs changing at all...? Most AWD drive cars require some kind of fluid change, especially things like the transfer box (Or equivalent of in this system). I know my Audi TT requires a Haldex oil change every 2 years for example even if the actual diffs are sealed for life... although it is a bonus if nothing needs changing :)

I was advising of another forum where there is some info regarding the OP's question, and I didn't think it prudent to 'advertise a competitor' on the open forum.  I'm happy to post the details if it would be within the rules and acceptable to the mods :)

There is no reason why you cannot pass on information that you have read elsewhere.   We just don't like direct links or references by name to "A N Other" forums.

Thanks for the discretion. :)

Just to clarify: I didn't find a specific answer to the question of whether the diff oil should be changed or not.  I pointed to a forum where there were some discussion about it in general, and where one thread told how to change it if someone wanted to.

Sorry for any confusion caused, I was merely trying to help the OP :)
