USB Sockets
« on: August 28, 2021, 09:16:11 pm »
Suddenly my USB sockets can only read the first 500 tracks in a folder.

I have played this folder many times and all 1,350 tracks were played.  Recently though I noticed that after playing track #500 it had restarted at track #1.
The only other odd thing was I also had to adjust the height of the HUD.

I have tried another USB drive but it has the same problem. Scrolling through the folder it would appear to only have 500 tracks, but I know it has many more.
Any suggestions?

Hi.  I had a problem recently where the artist / album came up with "unknown" even though it had worked for many many months (posted elseswhere).  Tried all sorts of formtting / reloading the tracks etc etc to no avail.

In the end I got a different USB stick and copied it all across - and it worked perfectly since.  The MZD system must keep some record related the the USB serial number so a different stick made it start from scratch.

Doesn't in any way explain why the problem started - but I've found a way around it.  Might be worth trying this is you've not already and have a spare USB. Good luck.

Thanks for the response.  I have tried a number of different USB sticks but they have the same problem.

It's not a big deal just one of those niggling little things that play on your mind.  I have split the tracks over 3 folders and that works for now.
