Mazda Smartphone App
« on: March 02, 2016, 03:51:03 pm »
I'd be interested to hear from members as to whether or not they have installed on their Smartphone the Mazda App and whether they refer to it from time to time.

I myself have it installed and check it maybe once a week although I'm not entirely sure whether Mazda would in fact issue any special/safety notifications this way as there is no compulsion to have the App installed.

The big red button for Roadside Assistance kind of hits one in the face but does this connect directly with Mazda HQ and give location coordinates or what? I'm a bit reluctant to actually test the thing in case it self destructs the phone.  ;D ;D ;D

I had it installed on my phone, after the initial interest had passed, I never used it again. Upgraded my phone and didn't bother to reinstall it.

I find it handier to check things like previous service mileage and when roadside assistance runs out rather then digging out the paper copies I have filed somewhere.

I kept mine on the phone, but it is rather pointless and not updated very often. In fact I haven't bothered with it for some time now.

Downloaded, and changed car over to the cx5,  all service history there including PDI mileage, dealer locator handy, but other than looking to see up coming services etc, not much use or reason to look at

Now coming up to 12 months since I installed the app on my Smartphone and until this morning, when via notifications it beeped, had long since forgotten it was installed. Anyway, it was a notification that the vehicle was coming up for it's 12 month service and that I should consider making an appointment to maintain the guarantee and roadside assistance. I have in fact already booked the car in for a service but it was perhaps reassuring to know that the app does actually do something from time to time.  ;D

Mines on my laptop.

But i only use it after a service, or to check when one is due.
Also useful if you want to print off the service history.
