Sport Nav with electric seat

(1/1)

Jackerello:
Is it me or is the electric seat on the Sport Nav a pain in the prosterior?
My Wife uses the car more than me, she is 5ft 2" , I am 6ft 3" so when I get in I obviously have to adjust the seat. I have to do this from a standing position and it takes approximately 40 seconds for the seat motor to take the seat from fully forward to fully back And it's getting a bit tiring now.anyone have solution ??

BigAl:
Don't let her drive...  ;)

Seriously, I have the same problem at 6ft 5 and 5ft 2 respectively. At least we have the two memory positions available which helps, just not with the time to adjust, unfortunately. She likes driving mine but prefers driving her Renegade, so we normally drive in our respective cars, whichever we happen to be using at the time. I know not everyone has that option, though.

No other solution that I'm aware of, sadly.

Bert321:
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the memory seats can be programmed to a key, ie opening the car with your fob puts the seat to your position, hers does hers.

CX-Fiver:
You're right Bert..... You get in the car, adjust the seat to suit, press the "Set" button on the seat and then long-press the unlock key on the fob for about 3 seconds. That's it.

40 secs is a long time to wait for the seat to adjust but that's not so much a fault with the car - it's the result of the big size difference in its drivers and would be the same in any car with electric seats. Would've been better off with the manual seats I guess.

rmvf:
That's really good to know about key fob setting seat position
