I've gone into set up cannot access vehicle, is this because my model specification won't allow it ?

Probably the worst phrased question ever but will take a stab at what you mean...

If you mean you are trying to go into the vehicle settings, were you driving at the time? As it wont allow you to access the vehicle settings while moving due to it being distracting so you need to be stationary before it will allow you to go into the menu... try when you are parked

...and some menus/options are only available with the ignition on rather than just in "Acc" mode (meaning two presses on the starter button without your foot on the clutch)
