Like or Dislike

+ Usb memory sticks have to be 2.0 and formatted to FAT32

Took me ages to fathom this one out put loads of albums onto a couple of sticks (while I was waiting for the car to be at the dealers) to find they wouldn't work. Had to start all over again
:)

As far as I know most systems expect memory sticks to be formatted FAT32. That is how they are supplied.

I had USB 3.0 memory sticks, they don't work in the MZD Connect system

USB 3 is nowhere near as compatible as it should be. USB 2 seems to work when plugged into USB 3, but not the other way round.

Hi,

I bought these for mine and my daughters cars.....
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cruzer-Fit-Flash-Drive-SDCZ33-016G-B35/dp/B005FYNSZA/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1432111438&sr=8-5&keywords=cruzer+fit+usb+flash+drive
They are USB2, once placed in the usb slot they don't stick out and are just about "invisible". I bought 8Gb - it holds loads of albums and is quick to load/transfer and navigate through on the infotainment unit.

I can confirm that USB need to be formatted at FAT32 standard.

I hope this helps.

Eric.

Just to add to that - I haven't used USB in mine as I use Spotify via bluetooth for music. What I will say though, is that if ever buying memory cards or USB memory for other purposes, I always buy Sandisk as I've never had one fail. Have just bought a Jeep Renegade for the missus and that looks ideal for the USB socket in that.

HEADS UP!

Those USB 2.0 Sandisk memory sticks are on offer today (being replaced by a newer model which is USB 3.0) ending midnight tonight
8Gb £3.99
16Gb £4.99
32Gb £6.49
64Gb £11.99

Have just ordered 2 of the 64Gb ones - it would be rude not to at that price!  ;D
