Bose Speaker - Sound Jumps from One to Another
« on: July 14, 2015, 04:09:12 pm »
I've just received a 2015 CX5 and I've noticed that the sound jumps from the centre speaker to the left side. this appears to happen randomly when driving and not when I carry out a specific action.

I've checked the manual but it seems to reference the previous CX5 model with regards to operating sound settings.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Mine only does that when its in Sat Nav mode or when you have the warning of speed cameras turn on. She does go on abit specially if your are over the speed limit for the road that your on.

Personally I'm abit disappointed with the Bose Sound. I was expecting more. It sounds like it just comes from the centre speaker all the time.
I've to really crank the volume up to the 40+ mark to get the better of it
:)

Hi DHZ,

Yes I noticed that too in SatNav mode. I also noticed yesterday that when it did it again I could hear a very faint voice when the music moved speaker so I now suspect that something is indeed interrupting it and it could well be SatNav commentary but it's very faint.

I can't really comment on the sound setup yet as I've been focused on the interruption but I will get to it!

Thanks for your input.

Bear in mind two things:-
1) The sound volumes for the audio system and nav system have separate settings. If the nav volume is low, a speed camera warning (which is quite brief) may not be heard, but the main audio sound will dip anyway, so it may sound a bit weird briefly.
2) There's a setting in the audio setup called audiopilot. The default is off, I believe. It's a speed/background noise dependant volume control - if on, it changes volume automatically depending on what speed you are doing, etc.

Thanks Alan. I can confirm, having played with the sound settings that it was the SatNav on a low volume setting which was interrupting the radio.

Thank you to all who contributed.
