Interior lights auto time off

We own a cx5 petrol sport Nav 2012. This is the first car we have owned in 10 + years where if you leave the interior light switch on it is does not auto time off after 5 -10 mins. Fortunately we have spotted it on 2 occasions and as of yet we have not drained the battery.

We need to install a workaround so that the busy family car has a safety net like all others of an auto time off on the interior lights.

Can auto time off be programmed ?

I believe only the interior auto lights can be adjusted, using the manual switch bypasses any timer.

The selector switch needs to be in the auto position.
