The picture shows the Spacesaver fitted to the front. I thought Spacesaver wheels didn’t fit over the calliper on the fronts, that’s why there is an instruction the Spacesaver’s are only to be used on the rear axle!?

Whatley  :   You are correct the Spacesaver wheels are only designed and intended to be used on the rear wheels.  The reason for this is the amount of lateral torsion exerted on the wheel by the act of steering, is sufficient , especially at higher speeds, to break the tyre/wheel seal and possibly rip the tyre off the wheel completely.  Of courses legally you should not exceed 80 kms/ph   (49.7 mph)  anyway.
 
I think what you missed in Anchorman's illustration were the words  "Test fitted"  I'm sure he did not intend to suggest that the spacesaver should remain on the front wheels.
