Well, booked in for the soft wear upgrade this Friday. Here's hoping that all goes well ! Will post an update . . .  :)

Post update to v56 it appeared to be more consistent in wifi syncing however this now appears not be a regular sync. I use both an EE Kite wifi and an iPhone 6 with iOS 9.2 . . . sigh ....

Well, the dealers have received my new CMU from Mazda, yay ;D However I'm away next week & they haven't got a workshop slot left this week so I will have to wait 2 weeks to see if it fixes anything, boo >:(

Had the "honour" of being one of the first to get the V56 firmware upgrade in late September, with none of the problems experienced on the earlier version, ................ until today!
Initially was working fine, then the continuous "Navigation Loading" screen.
After 15 mins, pulled over, switched off, locked car.  On return before starting, removed / ejected the SD card, re-inserted it and then switched on, but problem persists.  Now, when I switch-off I briefly get the old digital compass screen before the system shuts down.
Car booked in with my local dealer for Friday am investigation  :(

Typically the fault would not repeat for the dealers techs, but they did a "hard reset" and so far everything is OK!

I finally had my CMU changed on Friday & fingers crossed it's a case of so far, so good & the car has connected to my phone every time I've tried it. I guess time will tell.

Well that didn't take long - two days after collecting new vehicle & only 50 miles on the clock the satnav refused to load - just a screen with "navigation loading" and the spinning wheel of death!  Straight to dealers in Newport where they tried a reset by removing fuses - that didn't work - reloaded software and now I have V.56.  Be putting some long journeys in this week so we'll see how it goes. Apart from that the cars brilliant????

What version exactly do you now have?
Reading this thread 56.00.230 is the latest?

Mine is 56.00.100 entry corrected via last edit.

Reason I ask is as with Alan my i stop has never worked as yet, not a big deal for me.
But also I can't connect to weather or fuel stations, but can to traffic, although previously I could.

Interesting that you say that iStop hasn't worked for you.  What I have noticed is that the amount of pressure on the brake pedal can affect it.  I can bring the car to a complete stop at the lights, but once stopped if I add some more pressure to the brake pedal then iStop kicks in.  Not sure if this is how it is meant to operate but it's consistently like that on my vehicle.

I've managed to find the i stop page, it says it's not ready or available, I can't remember the exact wording used.
Given the fact that a full "page" is for I stop it would have been useful if the reason why was highlighted.

I stop is now working.

Phone connects when it wants.
And wifi will only give me the circle.

Collected my CX-5 on 29th October.  Upgraded sd card on about 9 November.
Everything works well, 'phone syncs all the time and satnav good.
Have recently tried the wi-fi functions without success.  My wi-fi hotspot is recognised and the password is remembered but I just get 'Network Error'
It did connect just once but before I could explore the system I had to shut the system down.
I think my software version is 51.000.351 (as shown in the 'About' menu).
I'll try another sd card upgrade but I pretty sure the Mazda Tools is saying this is the lates version.

Hi.  I had all sorts of problems when I got the car in September with Bluetooth and WiFi hotspots.

This all seems to have been resolved since the upgrade to v56 of the firmware.  IMHO I don't think it has anything to do with the SD card and the Sat Nav application itself.

Well I'm on the latest version 56.100.123?

But immediately afterwards I still had phone connecting problems, strange thing is since I booked the car in again the phone connects every time, well it has for over a week.

But the Wifi still does not work, so i'm putting the car into the garage 4 Jan to hopefully get it sorted.

Regarding the map update, I told my son that my version downloaded this month does give full post code functionality but not all the street numbers, so although his car is a 65 plate Mazda3, since the Nov map update his nav now gives him full post codes.

So its always worth being on the latest version.
I just hope Mazda do another to prevent the street names over laying the phone and wifi data.

Mine is the same, it was a lot easier o understand with the manual car, I find it irritating on the auto.
My son in law says the Merks are the same, he recommends using creep to prevent it kicking in, so try not to stop dead but use a slow approach to islands etc.

So today on a out going journey the phone connected as it has done since my last comments on the subject.

And the wifi hot spot both connected and worked!! For the first time in weeks.
Only for the phone to refuse to connect on the return trip, but the wifi still works.

The system seems to work when it feels like it. Two different faults working and failing at random.   :(
