Title: 2017 CX-5 Sat nav issue
Post by: C3P0 on February 21, 2021, 12:23:40 pm
Hello, I have just purchased a 2017 CX-5 and have started having issues with the sat nav. Basically it shows the car as moving when stationary and shows the current location incorrectly even though it is connected to 4 satellites? Today it showed that I was 4 miles from my house when sat outside?
I have tried to reset the system but that didn't change anything. I will try updating the card but the dealer did this when I bought it two weeks ago.

Does anyone have any idea of how to fix this before I go back to the dealer to have it done under the warranty?

Bought a 66 plate last year and was having similar problems  Go in to settings on entertainment system and check operating system number  should start with 70/71  mine was 56  so had not been updated since new. Unfortunately this is a dealer update £99.00 and 2 hours later everything working as it should and had additional features
Hope this helps

Mine is 70.00.335 EU N

I checked the SD card on Mazda toolbox and it said it was done in 2016, so doesn't look like the dealer updated it. I have been told I can get an SD card from Amazon and that it can be updated, this would also have updated firmware which may fix it??? Has anyone used one of these cards and do they actually work?

Mazda quoted £350 to have Android Auto retrofitted, I would then use Google maps which would solve all my problems, I just begrudge spending it when there is a sat nav already there!!!

Sounds like your firmware is up to date  If you look on Mazda toolbox App their is an option to buy a sat nav SD card update Think it is about £130 for 3 year subscription Just put SD card in your computer and it takes app. 30 mins  You can update 4 times a year.

I looked at the updates but after looking at reviews on the built in satnav I have decided just to get Carplay installed at my local Mazda dealer. Its going in on Tuesday so hopefully all goes to plan.
