Title: "Deaf" WiFi
Post by: p38cyq on April 16, 2016, 04:07:28 pm
My CMU was replaced recently due to connection problems.(Unable to connect, network error, DHCP error, and almost no other WiFi spots detected).

The new CMU now it sees a lot of WiFi-networks but in order to connect I need to be very close to that network (say 5 meters maximum), and no network is displayed as having more than 3 bars on the scale of 5.

Even when I park in my garage where my WiFi is installed.

Is this normal?

Isn't it really designed to pick up your phones wifi hot spot, so as long as thats operationg i don't see a problem.

All i look for is the tiny beating heart inside the signal, or if the weather and fuel isn't greyed out, alternatly you can go into settings and devices and check you have an availble hotspot to connect too.

I don't see my neighbours signals like i would on my laptop.

Thank you. I connected my phone through Bluetooth only, so I tried to connect via the Hotspot function.

The wifi doesn't pick up my hotspot (a standard IPhone Rev 9.0); tried with my wife's Nokia - but also to no avail.
Both phones do not "see" the CMU neither, only nearby wifi spots but nothing that resembles to Mazda or similar.

Or do I something wrong?

And, since my CMU was replaced, is there any way to find out what it's actual Rev. nr is, and what it should be?

I would take it back to the dealer to check it out.

Also get them to put the latest software version in, when they changed my wifi/BT unit it came with version 230, when the latest is now 512.
I have 56:00:511. (i am assuming you have the 2016 model)
