Title: Poor starting on CX-5
Post by: keel on September 08, 2015, 07:14:49 pm
Hi, had my CX-5 into main dealers for a service 3 weeks ago. Until service car had started 1st time every time, since service the car chugs over about 10 times before it fires up. I suggested to dealers that it seemed like the diesel was draining back to tank as the odd times I parked face down an incline it fired up fine. Dealer insists that the problem was not caused by anything they did at the service even though I pointed out that they had changed fuel filter as part of service. Car has been back 5 times since service, they changed an injector under warranty but the starting issue remains. Its in again tomorrow for further checks. Any suggestions as to whats wrong would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did they change both filters ? There's one at the bottom of the engine which is often overlooked.  Are you getting rising oil levels... this was an issue with some of the early cx5s.
