Accessing Settings Menus
« on: October 17, 2015, 11:06:02 am »
Not that I'd consider doing it for one minute*, but does anyone know how to access the 'greyed out' menu options on the Settings-Vehicle screen for things like the walk-away door locking, interior lighting settings etc.?

I know they're supposed to be changed by an authorised repairer, but it seems daft that certain models (US?) can alter these settings and my Sport Nav can't.

* probably!

You can adjust the greyed out vehicle options - they are there for you to use as you wish. For example, I've set the walk away lock option to on and the beep to on when locking the vehicle.

If you're doing this while stationary with the engine off*, you need to press the start button twice to access the greyed out functions. So pressing start (without pressing the clutch in a manual or the brake in an auto) will go to accessory mode. Pressing again (still without putting you foot on the brake or clutch) will turn on the ignition. The greyed out options then become available.

* I don't know if you can change these things while moving - I've never tried!

Thanks Ant, you're a star...

I've only had it a week so I'm still ploughing through the (very comprehensive!) manual and hadn't discovered that little gem. Just a page that cross-references another meaningless page. I'll go and have a play
