Dash rattle

Got an annoying rattle from Steering column area?
I did and it was driving  me mad. Rough road, slow speed, especially when braking. Was it the column cowling, tightened it, loosened it,took it off completely but still the rattle. Was it the actual column  God I hope not but no nothing obvious. Finally on a long empty rough track in desperation pushed and prodded anything and everything  and low and behold,  push glass ,(well plastic) covering the dials slightly
Hey presto rattle gone. How to stop it? Wedge of tape between glass and cowling, back to silence.  Wondrrful

Just had one today only had the car a week  but it’s gone now.It was a load clicking noise around drivers dashboard area  seemed loader on rough road. Not sure if the car got hot inside as shut up in the sun that caused something to expand and vibrate. If it happens again I will contact Mazda, and dealers.
