Dipped beam adjustment

Is there any user adjustment on the dipped beam, I seem to be annoying folks, certainly with the amount of flashes I am getting from oncoming vehicles?

There is but you should really need to as they are accurately set. I’ve noticed I get flashed and occasionally when one passes the other way it twinkles really bright but so do Jags and LRs.

There is an adjustment for initial setting and I’ll find it for you next week if you remind me but you’ll reduce the range of full beam of course.

Early this year I noticed that i was getting flashed when my headlights were on dipped. I took the car into the dealer for something else and mentioned the flashing incidents. They adjusted the low beam all the way down. Roll on to this Autumn and I noticed that I couldn't see as well ahead on low beams as I used to so I mentioned it again to the same dealer when I took my car in for something else. This time they adjusted them to half way which is what they said they should be Now, I do get flashed sometimes although I think the matter has to be put into perspective when I see the amount of cars with only one headlight working, or one headlight so out of adjustment it shines directly into your eyes. I had to flash an oncoming car the other night as they had no lights on at all, although I did notice afterwards that they had stopped probably working out what to do next. I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

I like the searchlight, very good on unlit country roads. I could never go back to halogen, or tungsten (people of a certain age will remember those, it was like driving by candlelight.

Hang on though, by adjusting the headlight beams to what you personally find suitable, aren't you running the risk of running foul of the MOT requirement?

All adjusted by the dealer and MOT legal (FOC), apparently 2018 models where set a little high, could argue well check them when they come in for a service then......

Dealer principle came out for a test drive and thought they might be good for grouse shooting at night......

Now the adaptive work as they should and a much more relaxing drive at night, still light up the trees on full beam

In my case the same dealer thought they were too high the first time and then too low the second time. We'll see what the future holds...

I lowered mine the other day using the nuts on the back of the headlamps, now it's much much better, and it lowers both main and dipped, mine has the adaptive LED, and main beam was way up in the trees.

Ive checked  both cars against each other and the wifes is way too high we are getting alot of flashing from other cars coming the other way,  how easy is it to adjust  (  just lower ) is there any stripping down to access the adjuster a photo or link would be greatly appreciated.

Guys i think ive managed to lower the adaptive front lighting ( dipped beam ) by going into vehicle settings lighting then at bottom theres a choice of reset to previous setting and i did it and the dipped beam lowered, its too late tonight but i will check tomorrow night and post results.

No, if I remember it's something like 8 or 10mm, I parked mine in the garage and marked the beams on the garage doors before I started fiddling.
first MOT this year, so will see if it fails on this, but I'm sure it won't.
