Title: 2019 Petrol Sport Nav+ GT
Post by: h5n1xp on August 06, 2019, 07:54:07 am
Hi all, I just traded in my old 2018 CX-5 for the 2019 model, I decided to stay with the petrol engine.

My biggest problem with the petrol engine in the 2018 model was how it was totally gutless in the low rev range, with absolutely no torque, until you get it to 3000rpm.

The 2019 model seems to have far more consistent torque through the low revs, it seem Mazda have tweaked the engine tuning so this car doesn’t feel like a slug on Valium when pulling away from traffic lights. Anyone else experience this?

Also the throttle pedal seems to have a “kick down switch” at the top of its travel, since my car is a not an automatic, is this switch actually connected to anything (there is nothing in the Manual)?

My current CX-5 is a late March 2018 plate and is quick right off the mark, noticed the difference on the test drive, much better than my previous one which was sluggish. Was yours perhaps registered earlier?
