Title: Automatic Choke
Post by: rickshaw on June 24, 2021, 12:16:12 pm
I have recently changed my CX-5 to a petrol model. It is my first Petrol vehicle in about 25 years. The first change I noticed was that on first starting up, it revs to about 1400rpm for at least a minute and it does this every time even after a few hours idle and in warm weather. Is this (a)normal and (b) if it is, is it safe to engage drive while revving at this speed.

Quite normal most manufacturers do this.  It is safe to drive but not good for mpg as the engine is using more fuel while in this mode
