Rising oil level & Mazda 3 year service plan
« on: February 26, 2019, 12:53:45 pm »
Does anyone know if you have a 3 year service plan if it covers any intermediate oil changes required by a rising oil level due to failed regens?? wondering if to take a plan out at the moment.

Many thanks.

I have thought/hoped the warranty covers it as it's most definitely a "fault" and I've not had other manufactures quibbling about doing a regen/PDF issue oil & filter change if necessary. Don't be fobbed of with any BS about "it's how you drive it" !!!

I have a 3 year service plan but don't think it would cover anything other than annual / mileage scheduled services.

For the rising oil thing I only had that once in the car's first year so under warranty was towed into the dealer and they changed the oil. The later magic 'fix' of software and moving the X on the dipstick have prevented recurrence.

As Mary says I reckon you'd be going down the warranty route if you have this problem.

Thanks for the info....I’ll run it past the salesman & service staff when I’m next in and see what they say too. I suspect it’s a warranty thing too.

Cheers.

Frangar.
Just to let you know that my October registered CX5 has had no oil level rise so far in 4,300 miles, although mine has the Adblue tank. (Whether that makes a difference or not I don't know). The oil condition on the maintenance monitor stands at 60% (Should I be concerned?) What do people think? :-\
The internet is a huge dumpster. You have to look hard to find anything useful.

Hi Jono

That’s good to know. Didn’t even know there was an oil condition monitor tho!! I guess it depends how quickly that figure is dropping. Wonder what is uses to measure?? Oil pressure??

Thanks for the information.

I have seen a number of posts about the oil condition. I don't appear to be able to see this on my model. It's a 68 plate. Is there a guide on how to do this? Can't find it in my manual.

Thanks
