Battery on its last legs, suggested replacements?

I didn't  everything just worked.
Read about supposedly needing to code it in but never found guidance on how to do it.
I think if you can swap hem over within a few minutes most settings are retained.
Just for interest this cars battery did 5 years and my previous 2013 cx5 bought at 5 1/2 yesrs had a newish battery fitted.

You need a sophisticated diagnostic tool to re code battery; perhaps when car next in for service
you could get garage to do it. As I understand it, as battery ages +capacity reduces, the BCM will get the alternator to send out a higher charge voltage.
This isn't healthy for new battery.

Although this is true of recent BMW, Mercedes and VAG  group models and some American makes I have found no reference to Mazda or other Japanese  makes. But I stand to be corrected.
