Title: Crease in rear bumber
Post by: Deepjoy22 on October 08, 2018, 08:31:26 am
Hi.

Looks like someone with a tow bar has reversed into my CX5 leaving a small crease in the rear bumper.  I've managed to push it out partially from the underside, but I can still notice it.

Anyone got any suggestions as to whether this is fixable so it's not visible, without replacing the complete bumper.

Thanks.

Put a pic up so we can see how bad it is. I have heard that dents in plastic bumper can be heated and it pops out. If the paint isn’t broken or bumper cracked may work.

The most common body shop repair now. They can be stitched and filled to look like new.

Thanks for replies.

I followed up on the heat comment.  Poured a kettle full of boiling water over it and with a simple push from behind it did pop out.  There is a very minor mark left that you can see when the sun shines on it.  But as the rear bumper is not usually so clean, I doubt even I will notice it in a few days.
