Heated seats
« on: January 06, 2017, 11:38:14 pm »
Ok so I took a cx5 for a test drive today...12/13 plate ....turned on the heated seats...they seemed to take ages to actually start working ...and they only did the seat and not the lower back as well...

My bmw heats the seats quickly...like within 5 mins you feel it...bum and lower back

The cx5 I drove for like 10 mins and hardly felt anything ...barely warm..certainly not heated as I'd expect...it was there but crap compared to bmw
And it was on level 3

Can I ask if this is correct or something a miss

Not the hottest heated seats I've ever sat in, but they do get fairly warm, both on the seat base and the backrest.  The cloth seats (in our Mazda 3 anyway) heat up much quicker and feel warmer than the leather in our CX-5 and our formerly owned 6.

Thanks for the replies so far...the one I sat in didn't heat up very well from sitting in it...

I'll go try another car and see if it's the same issue

Pretty pointless having heated seats if they are not very good

My experience is that they take longer to heat up when it's leather, our mazda 3 with cloth seats had 5 settings, level 5 could be used for torture purposes, ha ha. The other mazda 3 had leather and that's when we noticed the difference.
