I know this has been posted elsewhere, but it's a bit buried (mods could you please pin this post?)
On main screen, scroll right to "Settings".
Go right to the 7th tab for "System"
Scroll down and select "About"
Scroll down and select "Version info"
As of today (12/02/16), THE CURRENT VERSIONS ARE:-
OS Version - 56.00.511 EU N
Music Database - 00.05.000
Failsafe OS - 56.00.511 EU N
This version was released in early Feb 2016 (I had it installed 09/02/16)
PS, can we please restrict replies to this simply to official Mazda updates to the version info as above (rather that debates regarding versions available elsewhere or for other models)?

Stickied.

How do you update the MZD?
-
I've had two carried out by the dealer.
But some had updated them selves.

I would caution members to think carefully before undertaking any "Hack" of their CMU, especially as the information in the link, is not, from a genuine Mazda source.
Those who suggest this course of action and provide links to facilitate it, could do well to consider the consequences making this information available. In my opinion it is extremely irresponsible.
Do you really want to take the chance of turning yours or other peoples CMU's into something as useful as a brick.
Or am I the only person to see the peril involved ?
Finally there is something here that needs reiterating.

Some of us have had the software installed at the dealer.
All the link shows is the issues that the update is intended to resolve.
My update 511 was installed by my dealer, as was Alan's.
-
Latest version now appears to be 56.00.512.
-
This link explains what the 511 version does.

I can confirm this OS works flawlessly, installed myself.

Do you know the change log for the 512 now available?
-
As per the German forum the 512 modifies (= improves) the calculation of the oil-change frequency for Diesel engines.
-
Is that something just for Germany?
In the uk its 12.5K miles or once a year, not variable to my knowledge.
-
Xtrailman,
It is somewhat more complex.
Yes, there are prescribed fixed oil-change intervals (here in Belgium : once in a year or 20.000 km, whichever comes first.)
But the engine software/sensors check also some other factors, such as the oil-dilution and the distance to the X-mark on the dipstick; thus it might calculate an earlier oil-change in the case of any developing problems.

Thanks p38cyq
I'll not be rushing to update mine then as everything is working ok at present, just wish they would mod the street name window so it didn't cover the phone and wifi data.

That's something I mentioned in the 8 page report I sent to Mazda 3 weeks ago...

Perhaps a pinned thread for update suggestions, and bug reports could be started, then Mazda UK could be notified to monitor it?
-
This thread is already pinned. As long as the subject does not get corrupted with irrelevant postings then it will remain a valued point of origin for data.
This forum is not affiliated in any way to Mazda UK. If they decide to monitor it (however unlikely) that is their prerogative.

Latest version is 56.00.512, had it installed on Thursday by the dealer. No obvious differences that I can see, and has made no difference to the wifi issues, sadly.

p38cyq did post the changes see page one.
Thats why i haven't bothered with it.

Mine went in for it's 12.5k service last Friday, and the system has been updated to version 513.
I've not noticed any change apart from scrolling down favourite radio stations, before I always needed to use the commander and then select, whereas now I can use the FF buttons on the steering wheel.
Unfortunately yesterday I was driving near work on well established roads but the GPS wasn't reacting to the road changes for 10 mins, then the system rebooted. Not a problem at the time but was glad I wasn't driving abroad on unfamiliar roads. Not sure if this was related but suspect it was.

The Infotainment in my Mazda 6 used to scroll thru radio stations using the steering wheel buttons (like it's supposed to) until it was updated to 512. It's now on 513 and still doesn't scroll thru them. My dealer asked Mazda UK about it and apparently they're aware of the problem and there'll be an update late Sep/early Oct to fix it. I'm not holding my breath.

Mine does through the favourites menu but need to push quickly, if I delay it reverts back to the first station in my list.
It's annoying, if they spent a little more time developing it they'd have a decent system on their hands. Whoever decided on that type screen needs a rocket too, not good for a car display at all, especially in bright sunlight.

New firmware for the USA just released - MZD connect 59.00.441 NA Released 30/09/2016
Fingers crossed the EU version will be released soon. I don't know what the changelog is as I'm just relaying the fact it's been released.
Cheers all

I've read that version 59.00.331A-EU is now installed in new cars, but no down load at present.

I wonder if this is the version mentioned which does away with the need to use a wifi hotspot to access live services? I was told that was going to be available at the end of October.

I wonder how that's going to work? I'm making the assumption that the phone will connect as a normal wifi connection which should make the process quicker/easier/more reliable? Having said that, since I got my car on 5th September I've had no issues whatsoever with the wifi hotspot and live traffic. It's worked flawlessly so far (touches wood)

I have a 3 week old CX-5 in the UK, and it has version 56 on it. The dealer is saying that 59.00.331A-EU is not available.
Does anyone have it in the UK?!
I'm still having trouble with the Satnav, but the dealer is saying they can't find a fault - hence hoping that a new firmware would solve the issue.
-
As far as I know different countries have different releases. I've not been to the dealers recently, but I believe 513 is the current UK version, the 331A-EU version I would guess is EU rather than UK?
I emailed back to Mazda regarding an update to the live connection system a couple of weeks ago, aparrently it's "not ready yet..." ::)
Alan
-
Thanks Alan. That's good to know.
-
The new CX-5 I picked up today came with 513 installed.
-
Due to some ongoing Bluetooth issues, I had a lengthy chat yesterday with my dealer. There is a newer version than 513 which was supposed to have been released in February. Aparrantly, Mazda still aren't happy with it as an update which is why it's been delayed, although new cars are now arriving with the newer version installed. He also said that Mazda have instructed dealers not to replace any infotainment head modules, etc, that appear faulty until this is resolved... He's going to call me as soon as it's released.
I also asked him when the 2017 CX5 will be in the showrooms, that's also been delayed to June now.

My CX went into the dealer last week for a service, I requested they update the system but was informed none were available.
-
The latest MZD Connect firmware update - 59.00.502A - SHOULD be available at all dealers by now. If they don't fancy installing it (because it takes about 45 mins to do and they can't charge for it), tell 'em your system keeps rebooting. That aughta do it.
-
Yep, 59.00.502 now installed. It would be nice to know what (if anything) changes when they do this as there's never any obvious changes in the screens that I can see. Time will tell if its sorted any of the connectivity issues...

Hi Alan
Sorry to beat you ;)
My new delivery on October 15th came with 59.00.545 EU N (the latest as of this post)
Just updated the Music Database myself to version 00.09.000 :)
-
Aha, I did wonder it it was the latest version...
-
Just been in for a recall on engine management software and asked them to check the MZD at the same time.
I have 70.00.100 currently, I thought there was a later version? Possibly 335? Dealer told me that 100 is the latest version they have access to.
Could someone please update with the correct current version (as installed by Mazda, not copied of some dodgy internet site ;-) )
