CX-5 / Re: Walk away auto lock and double locking
« Last Post by bw10030 on April 03, 2024, 11:15:44 am »
Be cautious! My wife managed to lock herself out of her CX3 - she put her handbag which contained amongst other 'stuff' the car key fob, and her mobile phone, having unlocked the car on the back seat. As soon as she shut the rear door the car self locked, leaving her stranded. Apparently, mobile phones can 'mask' the car fob signal, so the car does not see the key and autolocks. I had to bring her the spare keys to get in.

Now I tried the same in my 72 reg CX5, with exactly the same result - locked out of the car - but at home with access to the spare keys.

So on both cars I have disabled the autolocks function- it's no real hardship to press the fob button to open the car - especially as the touch to unlock function on the doors is extremely temperamental (it rarely works for me!).

Once again, a badly thought through solution to a problem which really shouldn't exist!

Good luck!

Powered seats are fed independent of the Start button. It's so that you can move the seat before getting in (if some short ar$e has been in before you).

Not unless the previous owner did. Dealers don't update the Nav, it's too time consuming for them.

As a followup. I found this thread.

For me from now on I’ll be washing the car with the mirrors folded. Plus I'll be VERY careful where I aim the pressure washer!

Has anyone had what seems to be a Mazda trait - namely wing mirrors that do not open or close completely?
It seems to occur after washing with a pressure washer or after heavy rain.  YouTube is full of this specific Mazda problem.
Has the WD 40 trick worked for you as it did once for me but now, after the dealer gave his complementary wash both of them will not move more than half way open or closed.  A gentle help makes them work…. but…
Is it easy to remove the glass and if so does anyone have any tips to avoid damage.

Troubleshooting / CX5 2.2l Diesel - 2015 Lack of Power
« Last Post by Goat Eyes on March 03, 2024, 01:36:35 pm »
Hi, any help appreciated. Mazda CX5 2.2l Diesel, 2015.

Lack of power and flat through all gears, won’t rev over 3500rpm, turbo doesn’t come in. If I rev it hard it chucks out loads of white smoke.

Have used a DPF cleaner and done a forced regen.

Replaced the MAF sensor and will be getting a MAP next week, which I’ve had out and was full of carbon. Might get the inlet manifold off before that comes too and give it a bit of a clean.

DTCs are for SCBS and MAF. They clear then come back from time to time. SCBS System Malfunction is fairly constant.

Any known faults or anyone had anything similar?
