Appears to be a lot of ifs and buts mentioned in this article noticeably regarding the powertrain for which there isn't an off the shelf model available here in Europe. Will they produce one? Well at this time that's very much an open question especially when one considers the current energy climate. If ever this CX-4 does see the light of day over here then it might well be at the expense of the CX-5 as I personally can't see the need/market for three SUV type vehicles.

I Like it, but then again I like all mazdas except cx3, but if and when I see it in the flesh my opinion might change, it reminds me of how like BMW ( x6 ) and audi have gone with multiple suvs, it aint no replacement for the workhorse cx-5 thou, trying to hit a different market I think. Wish they would have a go with the cx-9 instead.

I was in my dealers showroom yesterday and there was a couple looking at a CX-3 and saying to the salesman that they wanted something bigger, but not as big as the CX-5 beside it.

The salesman mentioned the CX-4 but was quick to point out that it was not currently available in UK and that the CX-3 & CX-5 were the options open to them.

They walked out...........

I'd certainly consider one.  The CX-3 is just too small (since it's really a Mazda 2 on stilts, not a 3 as the name implies), and the CX-5 is quite big.  We have a Mazda 3 (as well as the CX-5) and the CX-3 has approx 4 inches less shoulder room for example.  Perhaps a CX-4 would be a nice balance.  And with all the recent bad news for diesels, perhaps a 2.0 petrol CX-4 would be powerful enough yet retain half decent fuel economy.

wow that's seems really picky Will, but then again its a buyers market and choice, I think a lot of folk like brand over the actual model. Must be a market for mid size then. but with cx-5 it certainly meets all my requirements I wont be buying one.
