Title: Looking at buying a CX5
Post by: fastcarmaniac on August 29, 2022, 11:22:26 am
We currently have a Kia Sportage KX4, which is a lovely car with a high spec.
The wife doesn’t get on with the power delivery, for a diesel it needs to be rev’d!

We previously had a Mazda 6 estate -2.2d Skyactive (150 bhp).
This was fully equipped with all the toys too. Also had excellent pickup with no lag and good MPG.

How does the CX5 compare to the Mazda 6? I’m expecting a bit more body roll, but a similar spec?
Does the 150bhp engine perform similarly in the SUV size?

My Mazda had the soft cam issue (sorted under warranty), do the newer Cx5’s have any issues?
Looking for one from 2018+

This must be one of the quietest forums on the net!

Really quiet in here - can go a week with no posts.

As for your question, I swapped a Mazda 6 2.2 D (150) for a 2.0 petrol CX5. Only went petrol as annual mileage dropped from  >25k  to <15k

If you liked the 6, you will love the diesel CX5. Whichever engine, it is a great car

The Facebook group is far more active with lots of knowledgeable members

Thanks for the honest reply, I’m not on Facebook so it’s a bit difficult!
