Title: DPF malfunction (again)
Post by: Bleakers on October 03, 2021, 06:57:57 pm
Hi everyone,

I have a CX5 Sport Nav 173 BHP 2.2, Dec 2015 with 50,000 miles on the clock, lovely car.

About a month ago, the car threw a DPF malfunction light whilst towing and I had it tested with no issues other than it had missed too many regens.  A forced regen cleared the codes and the DPF itself soot level was reduced.  A long hard drive had failed to clear it.

So today, I’ve been towing again and the DPF malfunction light has come on again.  I drove from Shropshire down to the New Forest, so 200 miles or so and bumbled round there for a week, then have towed over to Cambridge, another 140 mile tow.

Just before the DPF light came on today, the power dramatically reduced whilst on the motorway.

So, couple of questions please.

Can anyone tell me how to manually force a regen? I’m still 140 miles and 5 days from home...

Is this a problem when towing, or is there something else going on with the car?

Why can’t there be a doing regen light on the damned thing.

Any help gratefully received...

Thanks

Steve
