I have changed all the interior lights on my 2013 model to LED with no problems.  Biggest improvement was the boot light where the original bulb was feeble.
There is a video on YouTube showing how to do the job.
I have also changed the running light bulbs. A pair of LEDs is actually cheaper than a single normal bulb!
