Water in boot space

Hello, just opened the boot and down came some water from behind the mid section of the plastic trim at the top of the boot lid, ie where the  hinges are.
Some water had already pooled on the bootliner immediately below this area. So I proceeded take off the centre and right hand plastic trims to investigate, the middle trim had some water in it, the right hand one less so.I really couldn't see anything obvious,  It's a 2016 the seal around the opening looks ok any advice please? Thank you
