Spare parts

Anyone found a cheaper source of spares then a dealer?
Took out my rear outer light reversing into a tight space (yes I know there are sensors but too many b....y beeps going on). About 150 from a dealer but managed to get one from a scrapyard for 120 delivered. Easy to change so no labour.
Thought there might be a cheaper option?????

Ebay's always good. Just looked and they are about £80 but that's from the states. And there's an LED option but they are a bit expensive

Problem is that car manufacturers make very little profit on the cars themselves; in some extreme cases, they even make a loss. There real profit margins are on the parts. I recall back in the 80's someone did a costing exercise on how much a car would cost if it were built entirely from spares, it was something like 10-12 times more than the car itself. That was obviously before the days of advanced electronics in car systems; I wonder what a similar exercise today would show up?
