this is on a 4 year old cx5 sport nav with 38k miles and a manual gearbox.
Ive been really pleased with the car up until now.
was driving through france last week and intermittently the gear stick would make a loud vibration in 6th gear if I accelerated.
I wasn't at low revs - was doing around 70 when it happened each time.
if I stopped accelerating then the vibration stopped and it stopped altogether if I when to neutral then back to 6th.
happened about 4 times during the trip and just wondering if its a sign that something is about to break.
phoned the dealer and they don't know of this as a common fault.
has anyone else had this and know what its due to and what the fix is ?
thanks very much in advance for any help.

I've had something similar at different times, don't thing it's necessarily a major problem

Yes, its a known fault, I had it on my 2015 2.2D 175 sport-nav manual. 6th gear at 70mph, give or take a couple, you can stop it by resting your hand on the gear lever. If I recall correctly, it requires a small mod in the gearbox, involving replacing a shim? Unfortunately, I don't have the paperwork for that car now, that's as much as I can recall.

Thanks Alan. I read your post which was very helpful. Do you recall if yours was still under warranty when fixed and so no cost to yourself ? Mine is just outside of warranty so Im worried about the cost, especially as they don't acknowledge it as a known problem.

Phone Mazda direct. They will open a case.

It was still under warranty when it was sorted.
