Just experienced first fault with the CX5. My multimedia commander dial will no longer "toggle" left/right or up/down. You can feel the dial toggling but nothing happening on the screen. Have to resort now to using the touchscreen which is OK at start up but useless if I want to use satnav on the move . Anyone else experienced a similar problem?

Perhaps try a factory reset? Bear in mind you'll lose radio stations, sat nav favourites, Bluetooth pairings etc tho.

Bitten the bullet and booked into Newport Mazda for them to sort, it's not 6 months old yet!

Its the first i've read of a commander failure.
Could be just a loose socket under the commander.

Got a 10 day wait to get it into Mazda, I'll post the outcome once it's diagnosed

That's interesting as i had to wait around 3 weeks to get mine in during Jan. I do think that they are now trying to make it more difficult to book cars in for warranty work.
The comment i got was that was the earliest day available for warranty work, which suggests Mazda is mean with allowing sufficient time for such works?
Just guessing here, but i've had both cars in a number of times for warranty work, the lead time is now a lot longer than it use to be.

I could have booked it in earlier and left it with them, the 10th May appt is a "Waiting" appt. apparently they only do two of these a day, one morning and one afternoon - didn't see the point of being without car for the day, I'm hoping it'll be a simple fix hence waiting whilst they look at it.
