Title: Wallpaper....
Post by: DC77 on July 18, 2016, 04:11:59 pm
Yet to pick up my CX5 (this week hopefully) but just wondering whether it is possible to put a picture on the screen as wallpaper! Thank you.

I have never read anything suggesting you can.

Thank you, I wasn't able to on my 2013 Mazda 3, was hoping I might be able to now.

There are a few hacks that can be possibly done, but I don't like messing with things I don't fully understand.
Sites such as Mazda hacks or something like that.

Likewise, if its not in the handbook/ settings I don't bother.

Yes, you can. It is even easy to implement (one tweak installable via a USB stick).

See my example herewith.

Alternative site:

mazda3revolution.com/forums/2014-2016-mazda-3-skyactiv-audio-electronics/122458-aio-all-one-tweaks.

I've installed this and it works very nicely - lots of extra tweaks to the ICE.  I've not actually changed the wallpaper/background but I might tinker with it at some point...

Oh yes I see, although that's an unusual way of spelling Settings or Einstellung.  ;D ;D ;D

Thank you Willpower for setting up correctly.

Deeps, "Instellingen" is Dutch for Settings....oder Einstellungen.

Imagine the "surprise" when my dealer saw this! He immediately asked me if I could install a custom wallpaper for his personal CX-5.

For the ones who only need this change (wallpaper) see:

 http://mazdacmuhacks.com/?page_id=70

This is completely harmless for your CMU unit as you do not change anything else, only the background. It is a bit the same as for your Windows PC/Laptop: this modification does not modify your Operating System.

Good luck!

Yes I'd worked that out for myself and I posted very much tongue in cheek attempting to give the impression that I'd not noticed the wallpaper only the spelling of the text. Oh well,
never mind. Next time I'll slap myself around the face with a wet fish before trying to be funny.  ;D

Those mods appear to be for a different version?

"•This is for Mazda CMU version  v55.00.750A or v55.00.753A only! (I recommend upgrading to .753A if possible)"

Have you or anyone actually install those to a v56.00.513?

Which hacks have you installed apart from the wallpaper.?

And do have instructions for dummies.

How to install, see : http:mazda3revolution.com/forums/2014-2016-mazda-3-skyactiv-audio-electronics/122458-aio-all-one-tweaks.html

It is quite easy to do on your PC, the system will then copy the necessary files onto an USB-stick which you connect in your car. The CMU will automatically recognize the files and install them.

Besides the wallpaper, I installed the following tweaks :

- Enable touchscreen while moving.
- Remove disclaimer completely.
- Remove the safety warning from the reverse camera.
- Remove the blank album art frame.
- Install date to statusbar.
- Install speedcam patch.
- Install 1 sec diagnostics menu.
- Disable boot animation.

I'm at present awaiting yet another CMU replacement for BT connection failures, so it will be sometime before i get round to trying them.

Does the "date to status bar" also enable the phone signal to be visible even with a street name?

Yes, the phone signal remains visible: see my example (reply #9).

It does not interfere with anything.
