Modification Projects / Fitting running boards
« Last Post by jonybravo78 on June 12, 2024, 04:39:28 pm »
I've bought running boards and fittings online, and taken the CX-5 to a garage to have them fitted. The fittings have brackets to support the back, the middle and the front of the running board. So 3 areas across the length of the car.

The garage have said that my vehicle does not have drill holes for the middle brackets, and it wouldn't be safe to fit the running boards only to the back and front of the vehicle.

Mine is a 2013 2.0L Petrol

Anyone had any experience of fitting running boards to the Mk1 CX-5?

Steering/Suspension/Brakes / Electronic handbrake issue
« Last Post by Tiger on May 07, 2024, 07:37:24 am »
Hi all; any advice appreciated

My 2019 cx5 has the amber warning light on the dash for the electronic handbrake.

When the engine is on I can’t put the handbrake on. When I try the light in the handbrake comes on and then goes off again immediately when I let go of the switch.

When I then turn the engine off the handbrake will come on (so suggests to me that there is no actual issue with the handbrake itself? Maybe a software issue?)

Any ideas on how to reset or fix this without having to take it into a garage?
Thanks

Plenty of on line car dismantlers; just google for them. Try E bay too.

Exterior Trim / Damaged wing mirror trim

I damaged the lower nearside wing mirror trim that sits on the lowerpart of the bracket that holds it to the door. Does anyone know where i could get a new one. Mazda say in will have to buy new mirror, at £90 thats not an option. Have been trying to find scrap yards but these seem to be disappearing rather fast. Any help appreciated

The CX-5 achieved a solid five stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests (2012). Features include stability control, traction control, automatic city braking and curtain airbags.

Vehicle Entertaintment / Navigation Systems / Re: updating nav
« Last Post by Philip on April 26, 2024, 11:54:45 pm »
I have a problem with the nav system, I tried to do an update of the SD card; unfortunately due to a faulty sd card reader it trashed the card.
I bought a new card from eBay with exactly the same numbers on it ( EUROPE 2014  KD51 66 EZ1B ) Now when I tried to use the nav system the startup screen displays correctly and then it displays "Problem with map You cannot use this map on this device: Europe_zone_1-101624"

Any ideas on how to fix this or do I return the new card and buy a different one?

Thanks

Philip

Accessories / When did Mazda fit SCBS?
« Last Post by SteveAWD on April 26, 2024, 10:54:27 am »
Hi. I'm going to fit a tow bar to my 2013 2.2 sport nav CX5.
I've also purchased a Masda dedicated wiring kit C851-V3-921A.
I've read that to make this work for the caravan electrics, if the car has SCBS I will need a "split charge" relay fitted as well but I don't know when SCBS became current on the CX5.
Does anyone know the answer to this question. Many thanks.
