Vehicle Entertaintment / Navigation Systems / Re: updating nav
« Last Post by Philip on April 26, 2024, 11:54:45 pm »
I have a problem with the nav system, I tried to do an update of the SD card; unfortunately due to a faulty sd card reader it trashed the card.
I bought a new card from eBay with exactly the same numbers on it ( EUROPE 2014  KD51 66 EZ1B ) Now when I tried to use the nav system the startup screen displays correctly and then it displays "Problem with map You cannot use this map on this device: Europe_zone_1-101624"

Any ideas on how to fix this or do I return the new card and buy a different one?

Thanks

Philip

Accessories / When did Mazda fit SCBS?
« Last Post by SteveAWD on April 26, 2024, 10:54:27 am »
Hi. I'm going to fit a tow bar to my 2013 2.2 sport nav CX5.
I've also purchased a Masda dedicated wiring kit C851-V3-921A.
I've read that to make this work for the caravan electrics, if the car has SCBS I will need a "split charge" relay fitted as well but I don't know when SCBS became current on the CX5.
Does anyone know the answer to this question. Many thanks.

Hi all.
Thinking about changing our diesel for a 2018 petrol, what do you think will be better auto or manual?
Cheers

Modification Projects / Re: Fitting a dashcam in New CX-5

I've just used the Dongar connector to fit a Nextbase dashcam. This is a "traditional" dashcam, but the Dongar plug and socket allows you to draw power from the supply to the auto dimming mirror, and avoids the hassle of routing cable from the fusebox and behind the seals around the door frame. It's an easy fit, nestling behind the plastic shroud behind the mirror. Unclip the power supply, insert the identical male plug into the female receptor, and v.v with the other plug, and you're left with a USB power supply for any dashcam that uses a USB supply. My Mazda is the 2023 Homura.  NB Dongar is supplied from USA and cost about £38 including shipping. NBB it needs the 10 pin plug, not the 5 pin plug recommended by Dongar's web chat facility. Best to unclip the shroud first to see your power supply behind the mirror.

I found that it is very hard to find someone to do the IC speedo cluster or even a dial to convert from km/h to Mp/h and change the language on the small display. I did find a way to do this with coding in the end after first trying to find a new dial etc.
What have other owners done with imported cx-5's?
