Troubleshooting / Coolant level
« Last Post by speedy mazda 2 on July 22, 2023, 09:58:16 pm »
Hi cx5 owners can people please tell me what are your coolant levels when hot and cold?. Should the coolant be up to full when hot ?  Or on the full mark when cold with adequate room above full for expansion?. Looks a rather stupid design of reservoir to me . Any thanks in advance.

I have a 2019 CX5 and my drivers door mirror also started to fail to fold in completely. I got it replaced by the Mazda dealer as I have an extended warranty. The guy I dealt with said to look out for the same behaviour with the passenger side mirror - apparently it is a common issue.

Interior Trim / Dash rattle

Got an annoying rattle from Steering column area?
I did and it was driving  me mad. Rough road, slow speed, especially when braking. Was it the column cowling, tightened it, loosened it,took it off completely but still the rattle. Was it the actual column  God I hope not but no nothing obvious. Finally on a long empty rough track in desperation pushed and prodded anything and everything  and low and behold,  push glass ,(well plastic) covering the dials slightly
Hey presto rattle gone. How to stop it? Wedge of tape between glass and cowling, back to silence.  Wondrrful

Engine/Transmission/Powertrain/Exhaust / Moving forward in reverse gear
« Last Post by tigershyde on July 11, 2023, 04:37:11 pm »
Hi everyone. Has anybody experienced or heard of a CX-5 moving forward with the reverse gear engaged? My wife told me it had happened when she was reversing in a supermarket car park. I suggested maybe she had engaged first gear and suffered severe GBH of the eardrums. A couple of days later it happened again but on this occasion I was with her and the reverse was definitely engaged as the rearview camera was activated. The car lurched forward about a metre at most when she braked, selected neutral then reverse again and everything was as it should be. I have had a look around the internet and found a similar incident in the USA but I was wondering if anything similar has occurred nearer home. The car is a 2022 Sport nav.
Many thanks, Eddie.
