Well here we are again where we were about to go to Warwick, Sat Nav when operated just came up with ‘Unexpected error, the system is experiencing a problem. Tried a number of times with negative result, all other features were working okay. Previous inputs to the SatNav came back up with no problem. Taking her to Lodge for a hitch up to the computer to see if the problem can be traced and rectified. Let you know if anything found.

Engine/Transmission/Powertrain/Exhaust / Re: Searching for the glo-plug relay

According to my Haynes manual, it's powered by fuse 39 in the main fuse and relay box in the engine compartment. Power comes directly from the engine management system as far as I can tell. I have a 2016 2.2d so it might not be the same. Cheers, Al

Engine/Transmission/Powertrain/Exhaust / Re: Gear
« Last Post by coling_uk on July 26, 2023, 10:09:16 am »
Good morning,
I have this issue.

I, too, thought it was a fault , and when I took it to Wessex garage, Bristol, they were intially unaware of the issue but confirmed it is an actual known fault (there is a data/fact sheet from Mazda).

I was informed that the in 5th gear the gearbox vibrates enough to "push" the gear stick out. Not ideal 70mph. I was informed, via Wessex Bristol, that to replace the gearbox would be....£2,500 with an additional £700 in labour.

Stunned, I declined. It was a 2nd hand and cost twice that when I purchased it.

When I got back to reality I questioned why there isn't a recall on the issue, and I think, and please anyone correct me and advise how I can challenge this, but as it's not a safety issue, or resulted in numerous dangerous incidents, then there is no reason to recall.

However, I, like others use 5th rarely, (but to be honest, the underlying issue of it popping out adds to that).

Anyone else.
C.

Troubleshooting / Coolant level
« Last Post by speedy mazda 2 on July 22, 2023, 09:58:16 pm »
Hi cx5 owners can people please tell me what are your coolant levels when hot and cold?. Should the coolant be up to full when hot ?  Or on the full mark when cold with adequate room above full for expansion?. Looks a rather stupid design of reservoir to me . Any thanks in advance.

I have a 2019 CX5 and my drivers door mirror also started to fail to fold in completely. I got it replaced by the Mazda dealer as I have an extended warranty. The guy I dealt with said to look out for the same behaviour with the passenger side mirror - apparently it is a common issue.
